Rigs on Excavators

20-30 ton drilling rigs with 15-30 kNm top drive drilling rigs can be mounted on an excavator. This has been possible only for several years since the new generation small-size high torque top drives were introduced to the drilling industry.

A 25 ton rack and pinion drilling rig can be mounted on an excavator. The rig can be equipped with the rotary drive and be used for HDD and for any other type of drilling or pile sinking. Due to the innovative approach to mast design, the technology is a lot lighter than anything previously used in the industry.

This is a Vibro-Lance gravel sinker used for ground consolidation to prepare wet soft soils for construction. The power pack of the excavator JD470 is more powerful than that of a standard 25-ton drilling rig, which makes the rig on the excavator more productive than any standard rig of the same type.
